Wildlife Receptionist Volunteer

LOCATION: Wildlife Care Center (opening spring 2024)
Located at 24103 Congress Springs Road, Saratoga, California

SUPERVISOR: Wildlife Supervisor and Wildlife Technician

GOAL OF POSITION: Staff the front counter to assist the public with questions and animal intake as well as to return calls on the Wildlife Hotline.

TIME COMMITMENT: At least three hours a week for a minimum of one year. Shifts are available on weekends from 11am-6pm and weekdays from 11am-7pm.

DUTIES:

  • Interact with public in the lobby and answer questions.
  • Accept new wildlife patients from the public.
  • Return calls received on the wildlife hotline about wildlife nuisances or
    injured/orphaned animals.

TRAINING: Completion of Volunteer Orientation. On-the-job training is provided by the Wildlife staff and/or Receptionist volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be relatively outgoing, comfortable with interacting with people and speaking to them on the telephone. Must be at least 16 years of age.
