Choosing to put a loved companion animal to sleep is incredibly difficult. If you have made that choice, we encourage you to bring your animal to PHS/SPCA’s shelter at 12 Airport Blvd. (Coyote Point) in San Mateo, where we promise to provide a humane, dignified ending. Hours are 11 am to 7 pm on weekdays and 11 am to 6 pm on weekends.
If a pet has identification (a microchip, license, etc.), please allow extra time for our staff to research that information. Vet records and/or adoption records will help expedite this process. We request to bring in all pet’s documentation—such as licensing, medical records, microchip records, adoption records—to assist them faster.
At this time we are not able to offer owner-present euthanasia due to COVID-19.
Our euthanasia service for dogs, cats or small animals is $50. We offer communal and private cremations. Private cremations are an additional cost; feel free to inquire at our shelter for pricing.
We are routinely told that our employees are compassionate, caring and understanding… that we made an incredibly difficult situation a little bit easier.
