SafePetsImageSafe Pets Program

It’s not only humans who are affected by domestic violence, but also their pets. Abusers often threaten the welfare of the pets in an effort to control the victim. Afraid to leave their pets behind, the abused often choose not to leave their situation. That is where Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA can help.

We provide up to 30 days of temporary, free housing for pets of victims of domestic violence. People interested in using this service must be residents of San Mateo County and be referred to us by CORA, Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse.
