Outreach Volunteer

SUPERVISOR: Outreach Coordinator

GOAL OF POSITION: To promote PHS/SPCA and its programs and educate public.

TIME COMMITMENT: Varies, a couple of hours a month, usually weekends.

DUTIES: Positively and accurately represent PHS/SPCA at community fairs, festivals and events. Work at microchip clinics, free vaccination clinics and other special events. Deliver publications to locations in San Mateo County.

TRAINING: Complete of Volunteer Orientation, meet with Outreach Coordinator and shadow veteran outreach volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS: Able to interact with the public with an upbeat and positive attitude. Able to deal with some members of the public who may not agree with PHS/SPCA policies in a polite manner. Must be at least 18 years of age.

EMOTIONAL CONSIDERATIONS: Members of the public might share emotional stories. Free vaccination clinics can be emotional as they take place in low-income areas.
