Companion Dog Level 1 Class @ Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA

Companion Dog Level 1 is for dogs 6 months and older. Whether you’ve just adopted and want to get off on the right paw, or need a refresher, this class is for you. You will learn various hand signals and commands, such as sit, down, come, heel, stay, and leave it, and teach your dog to wait at doorways and walk politely on leash.

Frequency and Duration: This is a 1 hour per week class held for 6 weeks:  April 8, April 15, April 22, April 29, May 6 and May 20.

Bark and Lunge Club @ Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA
May 17 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Bark and Lunge Club is a class for dogs who pull, lunge, bark and/or whine when seeing other dogs on leash. Enrollees must be altered and up to date with vaccinations. Due to the nature of this class, it is not appropriate for children.

Frequency and Duration: This is a 1 hour per week class held for 6 weeks: May  17, May 24, May 31, June 7 and June 21.

Do you have a dog who’s a social butterfly? Or maybe a dog who’s a little shy or nervous? Do you like dog parks but sometimes feel uncomfortable being there? Then have we got a program for you and your canine companion!

At Dog Day Mornings dogs romp and play off-leash in a supervised atmosphere every Saturday morning, rain or shine.  All dogs must be current on their vaccinations, have attended a basic obedience class and all dogs 6 months and older must be altered.

Canine Good Citizen @ Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA
May 19 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

This class is designed for dogs that have graduated from a beginner group course at PHS/SPCA or another training facility.

Canine Good Citizen is a certification program for dogs with consistent good manners. The class includes greeting friendly strangers, walking on a loose leash, walking through a crowd and staying in place. Dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

Frequency and Duration: This is a 1 hour per week class held for 6 weeks. Test is on week 7.*
Classes will be held May 19, May 26, June 9, June 16, June 23 and June 30.
