Humane Tip of the Month!
In warm, dry weather, spiky seeds fall from the foxtail weed. The barbs catch in fur and between toes, get lodged in ears, noses, and so on. Due to its shape, foxtails migrate in one direction. Once inside the body, they are difficult to detect and can be extremely harmful. Be aware that this plant may grow in grasslands and trailsides where your pets explore. Look them over for any foxtails that hitched a ride.
